This shady walk is a must for any visitor to Bali and is an excellent introduction into the countryside and Balinese communities. It is off the beaten track, crosses numerous rice-terraces and small farms and ends up at the Bali Aga village of Tanganan, the descendants of the original Balinese who inhabited Bali before the Majapahit arrival.

Increasingly rewarding views as you walk up towards Tenganan a unique first hand insight into the culture and traditions of Balinese village life. Finish the walk at Tenganan, the local Bali Aga village famous for double ikat’ weaving and basket making

“a fantastic introduction to the balinese way”,
